Undergraduate School

Oita University of Nursing and Health Sciences, a public university corporation composed of four departments of instruction and research, offers a four-year undergraduate program leading to the degree of Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). It is accredited by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, the national accrediting agency for all college and university programs of nursing education in Japan, and is a member of the Japanese Association of Universities and Colleges of Nursing.

 

Total enrollment in the undergraduate program is 340, including several junior-year transfer students. Graduates of the program are eligible to take the national licensure examination required for practice as registered nurses, public health nurses, and nurse-midwives.* They are also eligible to receive licensure as school health nurses.

 

* Every year 10 to 15 graduates who have mastered the nurse-midwifery program as an elective are eligible to take the nurse-midwife licensure examination.
