The Eighteenth International Nursing Forum

The Eighteenth International Nursing Forum was held at the B-Con Plaza International Convention Hall in Beppu City on October 29, 2016. The main theme of the Forum was “Better Nursing Practice to Improve the Lives of those with Dementia”.

The speakers were Ms. Miho Yoshida and Ms. Yoshiko Mizutani who spoke on the topic “Living Well with Dementia”; Ms. Chika Yoshida who spoke on the topic “Expectations for the Direction of Dementia Measures and the Nursing Profession in Oita and Japan”; Dr. Asao Ogawa who spoke on the topic “Accurate Assessment to Prevent Delirium”: and Dr. Carol O. Long who spoke on the topic “Maximizing Comfort for the Person with Advanced Dementia: Nursing Care Approaches that Work”.

A total of 305 people attended the Forum. The large audience was made up of faculty and students from our university and members of the nursing and medical professions from Oita and other places in Kyushu and Honshu. Thanks to the efforts of our guest speakers the forum was a great success.
