The Nursing Administration and Recurrent Master’s Course

Course Characteristics

Our relearning course enhances the careers of working nurses by training them with the necessary management, education and research skills needed to become workplace leaders.

Course students receive education on the latest advances in nursing administration and practice. They also receive advanced training and education on the utilization of research methodology for identifying health issues, gathering evidence and discovering solutions.

Nurses active in a variety of workplaces such as hospitals, home care and government have graduated from this course and are presently active in a wide range of settings.

Course students do Master’s thesis research on a topic relevant to their nursing career. Through this they acquire the ability to recognize, analyze and solve challenges and problems facing nurses from multiple perspectives.

Below are some Master's thesis topics:

1) A Survey on Work-Related Ethical Issues Experienced by Nurse Practitioners
2) Workplace Learning of Obstetric Nurses at a Regional Perinatal Maternal and Child Health Care Center
3) Thoughts and Impressions of Practicing Midwives on Support for Community-Dwelling Mothers and Children
4) A Survey on the Preparedness and Initiatives of Elementary, Middle and High School Nursing Teachers in Oita on Cancer Education

 

Course Curriculum

Nursing lectures are offered on general subjects as a foundation to increase nursing expertise. Specialized lectures and seminars are offered on nursing administration, clinical nursing and public health nursing and students select the subject content of each discipline.

There is an advanced nursing administration lecture to enhance management and leadership capability and an advanced nursing science research lecture to improve research ability.

 

After Graduation

Graduates receive a nursing science master's degree. If eligible they can also sit for the certified nurse administrator examination.

Graduates working in advanced practice nursing, nursing administration and human resource development contribute to the development and improvement of our local health and welfare systems.

Our graduates work as hospital nursing directors and education directors in general hospitals, educators in nursing schools and other institutions, and leaders in charge of public health and welfare departments.
